Clean Solar Solutions have cleaned the solar panels on a small farm building on the St. Clere Estate in Sevenoaks, Kent. The solar panels are mounted on a building with a biomass boiler nearby. Therefore, the ash that makes it's way into the air settles on the solar panels and inhibits their output.
The picture above aptly shows why solar panel cleaning is important. The flatter the angle of the solar panels, the more dirt and dust it will accumulate. There is a self-cleaning effect from rainwater, but this is very limited and does depend on the angle of the panels. Even where the rain does clean the panels to a degree, a build-up of dust and dirt can still clearly be seen. Manual cleaning of solar panels is still needed.
